About WrenchReport

WrenchReport is a free AI-powered tool that surfaces known issues, common faults, and real-world problems reported for any US market vehicle from 1981 to present. No account required. No cost to use.

What It Does

Select a year, make, model, and optionally a trim and engine. WrenchReport generates a detailed analysis covering known issues by severity, affected components, typical repair costs, repair difficulty, technical service bulletins, and any active or historical recalls sourced directly from the NHTSA federal database.

Each analysis also includes an AI-generated reliability score from 1 to 10 reflecting the vehicle's overall long-term dependability, estimated annual ownership costs broken down by maintenance and repairs, and an issue timeline showing the mileage ranges at which known problems typically surface across severity levels.

Results are AI-synthesised from owner-reported data, automotive community forums, and technical service documentation. The tool is designed to give vehicle owners and prospective buyers a clear, structured picture of what commonly goes wrong with specific vehicle(s).

Coverage

WrenchReport covers US market vehicles across all major makes and models from 1981 to present, including cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans. Coverage spans both domestic and import brands sold in the United States.

Vehicle Comparison

Up to three vehicles can be analysed and compared simultaneously. When comparing, WrenchReport ranks each vehicle 1st, 2nd, or 3rd based on a weighted score factoring in reliability, total issue count, severity distribution, and estimated ownership cost. This makes it straightforward to weigh one vehicle against another.

Estimates & Limitations

Reliability scores and ownership cost estimates are AI-generated based on general patterns for that vehicle generation and reflect US market averages. They are not guarantees. Actual costs vary by region, driving habits, maintenance history, and individual circumstances. Issue timelines reflect typical mileage ranges reported across a vehicle population and do not predict when a specific vehicle will experience a fault.

WrenchReport is not a vehicle history report. It does not pull data specific to any individual vehicle or VIN. Always verify findings with a qualified mechanic before making any repair or purchase decision.
